Mission Week 11

Hey everyone! This was a bit of a shorter week because our p-day was Wednesday of last week, but still a lot of cool things happened and it was super exciting.
Practices We pretty much spent the whole week at the church to use the computers and do missionary work on the phone, but one other thing we did was practice lessons. Because I am in training, I have to do these lessons anyways, but they are actually super awesome for improving my teaching skills and practicing my Spanish too. And the district leader gave tons of awesome advice. I feel like I’m learning super fast, even if the Spanish is still a little tricky
Funny Story (and the work) So this week we decided to set a bunch of appointments with newly interested people that found an ad by the Church on Facebook about learning to pray or doing a bible study. We are then given the referrals for these people, contact them, teach them what they want, and then share more about the Gospel. But the big thing is calling them and setting an appointment. This is pretty easy, so Elder Sifuentez and I would switch off talking to every other person. Well, it was Elder Sifuentes’ turn and the person did not answer, so he decided to go to the bathroom. Just after he leaves, the phone rings and it is that person. I kind of freak out because I can’t remember why they were interested (a crucial part of setting the appointment), so I take off running to find Sifuentes and he is still in the bathroom and tells me to answer it. Long story short, I have no idea what the person said, and she probably had no idea what I said but somehow an appointment was set, haha. I think it was probably the Spirit giving me a nudge and saying, “your Spanish is good enough now” Kind of a neat experience that definitely boosted my confidence.
Baptisms This week I was fortunate enough to baptize two people, Constancio and Monica. They were not people we were teaching, but the district leader was. He invited me to perform the baptism for each of them and I said yes. It was such an incredible experience, probably one of the strongest times I felt the spirit in my life, and it was beautiful. Despite numerous problems we had beforehand, everything worked out perfectly and it was a glorious day for everyone there.
Pictures from the baptism!
