Hey everyone! Week 13 of the mission and it actually feels like I’m settling into the mission life. The language is still difficult, but I can definitely feel it getting better. Overall, everything just seems more normal.
Transfers Last week were transfers meaning the whole mission just got switched up. Even though I am still in Valle de Etla because of training, my district totally changed up. Instead of 10 missionaries in 5 areas and 2-3 churches, now we have 7 missionaries in 3 areas and 1 church. This change is because a new area opened up pretty close to us, so District Etla split in half. It is a huge change, especially for me, but I think it will be really awesome. The new Elders are really awesome (all 7 of us are Elders) and we will be traveling a whole lot less because district councils will all be at our home church. I am a bit sad that Elder Reyes, the American who was helping me out a lot, was moved out of the district to be a trainer himself, but now I understand enough Spanish that I don’t need to rely on English too much anymore. There are English speakers in the new district, but even with them Spanish is the new normal. It is kind of weird but a little awesome too!
The Work This week the work was pretty much a ton of new people. We did a lot of texting and calling people and even though a bunch of lessons fell through, we have a ton set for this upcoming week. And something super awesome happened this week: we had an in-person sacrament meeting for the first time in over a month! It was incredible. And because it was fast and testimony meeting, there were a bunch of people who shared their testimonies; it was all super spiritual. I couldn’t understand it all, but what I could understand was fantastic. And what was even better, one of our investigators came in-person and two came over zoom. We were expecting more, but it was still a blessing to have someone there with us to feel the spirit. We have a few people set for baptism in a few weeks too and some are still waiting for an answer to their prayers. If you could pray for Gabriel, Martin, Monica, that would be a huge blessing. Thank you guys!
