Mission Week 26

Hey everyone! What a week! I hope you are all enjoying the start of December with the cold weather and holiday decorations everywhere. We see a fair number of Christmas lights here which is nice, but basically freeze to death every morning in our entirely-concrete refrigerator of an apartment. But it’s the mission life and just another experience to remember!
San Lorenzo For some reason, this town in our area called San Lorenzo has been popping with work lately. To get there is about an hour trip by bus, but it really has a lot of people who are open to hear our message. One of these people even called to us while we were walking to another appointment, so we went an talked to him, eventually teaching the whole Restoration lesson in under 10 minutes. It was quite a miracle, and we are sure to return to continue working in this town!
Saturday The whole day of Saturday was a different day in the mission because of a few things that fell into place together. To start, we had a ward service activity that we attended, which was helping clean up a park in the area by raking leaves, cleaning the tables, and painting some parts of the playground. It was a fun morning and good chance to do some service, something not too common in this area. Then, we had an impromptu change of plans for lunch, so we went and ate with our neighbor and landlady, Hermana Susy. We ate the food in the picture below, and it sure isn’t what it seems! Finally, we traveled to the city to film a music video to put on the mission Facebook page. Because my companion Elder Barret can sing, the Sisters in charge of the Facebook work invited him to come and help. In total, there was a small choir that sang a Christmas hymn in Spanish. And I actually got to direct the music, which was a little spur-of-the-moment decision but it still went really awesome!
Food Photo Explained (Down below) We ate with our landlady on Saturday, and this is what we were given. It appears to be: -Hotdogs -Rice -Salad with dressing -Orange Juice -Ice cream What it actually is: -Tentacles -Rice -Salad with cooking spray as dressing -Guava juice, but really bitter -Mayonnaise in a cup (wierd photo lighting) So it was quite a meal, that’s for sure!
Pictures! -Food photo -Ward service project -Photobombed at the Facebook activity -A cool abandoned plane in the area
Keep pressing forward everyone and have an awesome week!
