Mission Week 54: Lucero’s Baptism!

Hey Everyone! I hope you are doing well, and had a great week. For me here in Oaxaca, this week was a busy one but a little strange too because we really didn’t have a “normal” day of work the whole time. However, we still got a lot done and felt the blessings from each part of it. I truly hope such blessings can come into the lives of you guys and in your endeavors in life too!
Trainer/Trainee Meeting This week we took the long 6 hour trip back to the Capital of Oaxaca to go to a trainer/trainee meeting. The trip was super quick, we were there and back within two days, but it was still super great. Getting to see all the trainers and missionaries was super fun and especially because I got to hear about some of my old areas and how they are doing now. The meeting itself was pretty good too because we got to have a special talk with the mission president and a lesson by the APs. In all, it felt like a checkpoint (or checkup) and was good for both me and Elder Cauble.
Lucero’s Baptism! This Sunday was pretty special because it was the day of Lucero’s baptism. We have been working with her for a few months now and she has changed so much! I was very happy to be here for her baptism, and the service went well. She got to be baptized by her grandpa and I’m sure it was an incredible experience for both her and her family. Truly great blessings await them.
Sad News Recently the mission has had a huge decrease in the number of missionaries because on Wednesday, 14 will be finishing up, but only 4 will be getting here. This means that a bunch of areas have to close, and one of them is the other half of our ward, Linda Vista 2; so Elder Cauble and I here in Linda Vista 1 are going to have to take over the whole ward now as we say goodbye to Elders Prado and Sifuentes. I would like to say it is bittersweet, but honestly it’s much more bitter than anything else. We have had a couple of great transfers together and there will be a huge change around here for the next one. Despite that, it still should be a good next transfer.
