Hey Everyone! How are you? I hope everything is going well on your end of things, wherever you may be! This last week here in Oaxaca was one fully of action and activity without a minute of boredom. We’ve been teaching and learning and working as hard as possible to make sure those out there that need the gospel are able to receive it with open arms! Here is what happened!
*The New Area* Since the transfers, the area I’m in now (Linda Vista) has changed a lot. We took over the other half of the ward and now our area is huge! It feels a bit overwhelming at times and we really still haven’t done much over there because of the work we had going on in our side of things, but hopefully we can work there and get things done. The other crazy part was that they vacated the house that the elders used to live in, so this week we spent some time moving everything out and storing it temporarily in ours. And although we’ve got a pretty big house, it still feels very full with everything from their house in it.
*Zone Conference* The reason why I’m writing this today is because yesterday was the Salina Cruz zone conference! And today is our p-day. It was a bit last minute but because of how the mission president was traveling along the coast of Oaxaca doing conferences, it just fell like that. So on Sunday we had interviews with President Martinez and early Monday morning the zone conference began. This time was super interesting because all of the speakers really talked about the idea of giving our all, and we had an interesting discussion on whether or not the mission is “hard”. It was quite unique and good to think about what we could be doing better by giving it our all!
*The Work* Last week the work continued super well last week and we have made some big progress with a few people. We kept working with Irving, who should be getting baptized soon. It has been incredibly interesting to work with him for the past little while and seeing him learn and change is a huge blessing! We also set a baptismal date with this 13-year-old named Josiel who is the grandson of a member. He finally got permission from his parents to get baptized and wants to follow through with the decision we’ll have his baptism within a few weeks. Really things here in Linda Vista are going well and the work is pressing forward as it should with the Lord’s help.

Have a great week everyone! Take care! -Elder Ord
