Mission Week 72: Gabriel’s Baptism!

Hey everyone! I hope you’re well! This was a crazy busy week for me down here in Oaxaca and I’m glad to get a p-day to relax a little bit. A lot happened and a new adventure has started here in Emiliano Zapata!
*Gabriel’s Baptism!* Last Wednesday we were super blessed to have a baptism! It’ll be the only one between Elder Torres and I but it sure was great! There was a huge turnout and the family of hermano Gabriel was really excited too. The service went great and afterward hermano Gabriel’s daughter, Rosa, opened up her mission call too! She’s going to the México Monterrey West Mission! How exciting! In all it was a good day and a long one coming, literally for years. And after the Branch Preaident treated us to tacos, so that was super nice too.
*Transfers* Unfortunately, the great duo of Elder Torres and I had a short run because transfers hit us last Thursday. We knew one of us was going to get transferred because we both got called to train, but we didn’t know who until Thursday morning, when the asistentes called and said that Elder Torres would have transfers. After a few days of packing up and taking pictures, it was time to go.
Friday night we had a special meeting ehwre all of the new trainers met their trainees, so us and 18 other missionaries went to that. I got to meet my new companion, Elder Tobler! He’s from a town near Las Vegas and seems like a pretty cool guy! It should be fun working together. Saturday morning we officially had transfers and that is when we returned to Emiliano Zapata.
