(Hey everyone, this was supposed to come out last Wednesday because our p-day got changed but I didn’t have enought time to send it out because of how busy we were. So here it is anyways!)
Hey everyone! I hope you are doing great. I’m out here doing good too, even though it was a bit rougher of a week than normal.
*The New House* So the adjustment into our new house has been a little rough. We pretty much moved into at the current moment, probably the worst house in the whole mission. Here’s a few of the major problems: 1. We don’t have a kitchen sink, or a real kichen for that matter, just a room with a fridge, microwave, and hot plate. We have to wash dishes into the bathroom sink then put them in the hand washing station outside to dry. 2. The house is super old and falling apart, meaning that most of the wooden doors and windows don’t actually close all the way or have very large gaps that lead to the next problem… 3. Insects! There are so many mosquitos, cockoaches, and especially, spiders. We’ve woken up multiple days now with spider bites and had to kill quite of lot of big spiders. Hopefully soon we can get some kind of fix going so that they can’t get inside. 4. The Heat. When we get home at night, walking into the house feels like walking into a furnace. Super dry, hot heat. We fortunately have ceiling and box fans, but it still isn’t great. We actually had a scare where the power went put for a bit in the middle of the night, and it would have been impossible to sleep with out a fan. Fortunately, it was only a few seconds and we could somewhat sleep through the heat.
In short, it is kind of hard to live here. Hopefully things get better soon.
*Trainer/Trainer Meeting* Today in the morning we headed to Oaxaca City to have a huge meeting with all the trainers and trainers, where President Martinez and a few of the assistants taught us lessons and just got us excited for the next transfer and improving in the whole process of training. It was a fun meeting and always good seeing the other missionaries and getting to talk with them for a while. The meeting took up the morning of our p-day and in the afternoon we had…
*Temple Trip!* The reason that this email is coming out on Wednesday instead of the usual Monday is because we finally got permission to go to the temple! So they changed our p-day to Wednesday and we were able to go to a session in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun and super special to go. It had been so much time since I had been to the temple! And it was super cool this time because the last time I went was when I was in my training, about 16 months ago. So this time, I was able to better understand the session because I now understand Spanish! It was a huge blessing and I’m excited for more temple trips in the fuure.
