Hey everyone! Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a great holiday season and a wonder day yesterday! It has been a crazy season for me and almost a relief now that it’s all over. The good thing is I can now say I’ll be hoke for next Christmas. Five months left!
*Too Much Food* This week we have been stuffed to hte brim with food. Not only have the members been giving us way more food than we should eat, it was three days in a row of night parties with plenty of food to come as well. I feel like I’ve gained 15 pounds and am started to look it too. Guess I’ll have to start cutting down when all this craziness ends.
*The Parties* Mexicans are super known dor their parties around Christmas and this year was crazy. Almost every night has been a celebration for the town of Zimatlán and as well for us in the Church. -On Thursday there was the Zimatlan Branch Christmas party. We went, but had to leave just as the food was coming out because it started so late. So the members served us up in some Tupperware and we took off running home. Then -Friday was the farewell of Hermano Irad, who leaves to his mission in Kotono, Benin (Africa) tomorrow. The party was fun in the night and but they just kept shoving food in our faces so that wasn’t too great. -Saturday was Christmas Eve or better known here in Mexico as La Nochebuena. We had our big Christmas dinner with the Branch President and his family, but we barely ate anything from eating so much the three days before. But it was still fun and we were able to be out until 10:30, which was a huge blessing.
*Christmas!!! * Sunday was Christmas (in case you didn’t know) and we had a super chill day. We woke up and opened presents, went to church, ate lunch, went visiting members, and talked to our families! So a good day, and the hear decided to stay away too so we were pretty comfortable too.
*The Work* Even though it was the week of Christmas, we still got a lot of work done. We finally had some progress with this one sister of a member named Adolfina! We invited her to baptism and she came to church for the first time ever yesterday! So huge blessings there. If you all could pray for her as well as this one person Keyla Mendez, that would be great. I love you all!
*Spiritual Thought* I have been thinking a lot about the Savior recently, especially for the holiday but also in my reading of the Book or Mormón. There is a scripture in 2 Nephi 19:6 that we’ve been sharing with the members, and I wanted to share it with you guys too!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Please take more of Christ into yourselves this year and remember how wonderful He really is. I testify of Him and that He lives, helping us spread the fulness of the gospel around the globe!
