Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Week and got a lot of joy out of eating the good food and spending time with family. This week for me wasn’t quite as peaceful, but it was still a good one nonetheless. Here we go!
Transfers! This week was the big one for transfers, because I left Valle de Etla and came into Antequera (ant-teh-keh-ruh). My new companion is Elder Barret, an American from Washington who has been out just over a year and a half on the mission. He speaks great Spanish and is an awesome missionary as well.
The New Area So there is a big of a surprise about the new area… it is next-door to Valle de Etla, and they even share a border! So I’m still super close and everything looks pretty much the same. I am fortunately in a different district, but the same zone of Monte Alban. So yeah, quite a shock! The area of Antequera is still huge, but the towns are much more in a line, so we travel on the highway by bus to most of our appointments. But it sure is a nice change from riding bikes all day every day. However, it is really cold in the mornings here and with an apartment made of solid concrete, we pretty much wake up in refrigerator. Brrr!
Thanksgiving We were really fortunate and got to call our families on Thanksgiving day, which was super nice. I was really grateful for the chance to talk with everyone that I did. I love you guys! The rest of the day was pretty normal for us with lessons and missionary work, and we had soup, tacos, and banana bread?? for our Thanksgiving meal given to us by a member. It was actually a huge blessing.
The Work Here in Antequera there really seems to be a good amount of work to be done. We have people in teaching, and something especially cool is the activity of the members. We have regular meetings with many of the members in thr ward, as well as recent converts. The ward really is trying to help and it is a huge blessing too. We’ll just have to see what happens!
