Mission Week 30: Oaxaca Oaxaca, Oaxaca

Hey everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fantastic new years and a good start to 2022!
New Years! This new year’s in Mexico was really great. We had a nice dinner of pasole with the Jerónimo Family. We then made it home just in time and heard the fireworks going off all night long, from every direction, probably throughout the entire city of Oaxaca. It was absurd. But a good night nonetheless.
Transfers Yesterday we got the big news of transfers and crazy enough, both Elder Barret and I are leaving the area. It was a bit if a shock, but also half expected? It is a very wierd situation and I’ve definitely got mixed feelings. I am sad because this is a great area and ward and I hardly had enough time here, but am happy because there is a chance to finally leave the Zone Monte Alban and have experiences elsewhere in the mission. But it is unfortunate that just after 3 transfers, the area has to restart again with a whitewash. However, I know it is in the Lord’s hands and He will care for Antequera.
The Work This week was pretty slow for the Work and I think that is due to the holiday season and breaks going on. However, the mission president has been trying to get us to focus more on the members, so this week Elder Barret and I spent time making a huge plan for how to do this. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to use the plan because of transfer, but hopefully the missionaries coming in will take advantage of it. Apart from this, it would be fantastic if you guys could pray for Abundio, Elio, Didier, Victor, and Martin this week. It will be sad to not be working with them anymore, but prayers for the new missionaries to help them would be awesome. Thanks guys!
Pictures!! Just some general pictures this week, that’s all!
Take care! Love you all! -Elder Ord
