Hey everyone! Hopefully you all had a great week and are having a great MLK day. This week was pretty good and always a pleasure to be in the work of the Lord.
Exchanges I got to go on exchanges with the district leader, Elder Medina, in his area of Union Hidalgo. He is from Arizona and has a ton of family on Chihuahua. He was a fantastic companion for the day and we had a blast. I even got the chance to help give part of a practice baptismal interview to this cute 9-year-old girl named Jade (Ha-de). She passed the real one the next day and was baptized on Saturday! Such incredible blessings!
The Weather This week a cold front came in from the north so the wind has been insane. One day after we made it home my calves actually hurt because of had to walk so hard against the wind. The cooler weather has also made the nights nicer for sleeping, but the cold shower in the morning no longer is enjoyable, haha. But just because of the greater winds doesn’t quite mean the heat is gone, the sun still shines bright and heavy all day long!
We also gave talks in sacrament this week, and I actually went 15 minutes using only bullet points! It was incredible and really shows how far my Spanish has gone in 6 months.
The Work This week was pretty tough with the work because of the pandemic. It has flared up crazy in Oaxaca and covid mixed with the flu going around meant that our appointments fell through left and right this week. This also meant that church went back to only the 1 hour sacrament meeting with about 20 people invited in-person. So it was pretty hard getting our people in teaching to church because the members that usually help them couldn’t go themselves. What a struggle! But we still had plenty of miracles and success with getting to know the members, especially those less active. Hopefully next week there will be more lessons and less covid.
