Hey everyone! I hope you had a great week. Just know that the Lord is always there by your side, and you can turn to Him whenever! I know it! Keep on pressing forward and all will turn out alright. This week for me was another busy one here in Santo Domingo, so here we go!
The Weather So this week the weather actually has gotten super cold. A bad wind came in from the north and Elder Verbanatz and I even went out wearing jackets one day. This also made the night super cold too, and somehow it was even colder than my old area. But a few of the days there were this super strange feeling in the air where it was probably raining up North, but because of the wind, the rain was carried down to where we were at. And because of it, the air itself felt wet. Not humidity, not rain, just a wet sensation. And not even enough to get wet or dampen anything. Definitely one of the strangest feelings. And it is super crazy because Juchitán is one of the zones known for being incredible, unbearable hot. The only problem with the wind is getting people to church. Because of the pandemic our church meetings are on zoom now, and people need internet to attend. But with the wind being so strong, it keeps knocking the wifi out so neither members nor our people being taught are able to watch the meetings. It is super frustrating when we do all we can to set them up to attend church, but then the wind just says no. Hopefully the meetings will return back to in-person soon.
The Work This week the work was on fire! Because of this “Mes Blanco” (white month) initiative in the mission, we have been doing everything we can to prepare people for baptism. And this week alone, we invited 5 different people to be baptized! A few said they needed more time to think and recieve an answer of the truth, but the other two are willing and ready to make this covenant with the Lord and it is so special to get to see how their lives will change because of it. There still is a long way to go, but I know with the guidance of the Lord, we can help them achieve this desire! If you could pray for Paul, Nadia, Julio, José, and Axel, that would be fantastic!
