Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing super well, and that things are working out in your lives! This week for me here in Oaxaca was one never to be forgotten. We did a ton of work and really have started something incredible here in Salina Cruz.
Building a House There is this recent convert and her son that live in our area, and they currently live in pretty rough circumstances and what could hardly be considered to even be a shack. The ward picked up on this and so a huge project has come together where we are literally building them a house. This week we went twice as a district to help get them started and we’ve already made a ton of progress. The foundation is coming along nicely and this week we will return to keep working on it. Obviously building houses here in Oaxaca is a bit different than in the States, but it was still incredibly fun and satisfying. We left both days exhausted and with hands covered in blisters, but it was well worth it. They are extremely great and humble people and I know this will be an incredible blessing in their lives!
Antonia After a pretty important appointment fell through, we went door knocking. And we knocked on the door with a person that let us in, named Antonia. We talked with her for a good while, taught her the Restoration, and set a baptism date! She had talked to the missionaries before, many years ago, and now it is our turn to pick up where they left off! Prayers for her and her family would be incredible! Thanks everyone!
One last thing that I want to add is that there is always a way to be happy. I remember from a talk by President Nelson about how Latter Day Saints can always find joy in their lives. And even when everything seems like it is crashing down, there will still always be the love of the Savior and a million other things that can bring joy into one’s life. After all these days and all these experiences on the mission, this is a principle I’ve gotten to know pretty well, and hope you all can apply it into your lives too! Stay positive! Press forward! Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ love you!
