Hey everyone! I hope you are all well, especially with school now back into full swing. Down here in Salina Cruz, things have been going pretty well. We had a busy week and are looking at another one ahead of us too. But things are good. As I come closer to finishing my time in this area I really am trying to enjoy every second of it. We have had a number of activities and were able to get together with the other missionaries too so that is always super fun, especially with this temporary hold on joint missionary activities. Surely it is for good things to come. Considering that there is less than two weeks until the end of the transfer and a crazy big multi-zone conference to follow, we are working our hardest now to be able to enjoy the festivities later!
Omar’s Baptism This week a true miracle happened with Omar’s baptism. Just a week and a half ago we set the baptism date for Sunday the 28th and we powered through with lessons, contacts, and even a bit of a crazy interview just to get this baptism to happen. With the help of the Lord, it did! Omar was super happy and gave a beautiful testimony after he got baptized, and it was a great experience for me as well because I was able to perform the ordinance. We truly felt very blessed by the Lord because recently we’ve had a bit of a tough time finding people and this baptism was a big help to the area and to our spirits.
Splits and Exchanges Recently in this transfer it has been kind of funny because due to preparation for the multi-zone conference, we haven’t been able to do district activities, except for the Todos Juntos activity each area does with their wards. So pretty much every time we are with another companionship of missionaries, we break off for a little bit. This could be going to the gas station to buy something to eat, or during Todos Juntos just spending time with another elder and the members, it really is whenever we can. And because the zone leaders had something huge planned the same night of Omar’s baptismal interview, we did a quick 5-hour exchange where I was able to work with zone leader Elder Nef for a bit before he did the interview. I really feel that although we haven’t been able to be together too much, I’ve gotten to know the missionaries of the district pretty well for all the quick changes we’ve done.
