Hey everyone! What’s up? I hope you are all doing fantastic! I’m still out here living the dream in Oaxaca, and having a blast while doing it.
*The Week* This week was a good one, we had a lot of lessons and finding a few people too. The unfortunate part was that our friend Heberto was a little hard to contact during the week and didn’t attend church Eben though he said he would, but we’ll keep working with him.
The real excitement however was when we went with this guy named Delfino. He is this older guy and has known the church and the missionaries for a few years now, but has yet to get baptized. The big problem here is that his entire family are Jehova’s Witnesses and that has left a big impression on how Delfino thinks as well. The good thing is that they are really relaxed about letting us in the home and we pretty much exclusively talk to Felfino anyways. In the Week we were able to have two lessons with him. 1. In the first, we taught him the Plan of Salvation (and utterly shocked him by teaching him about the Spirit World) 2. In the second lesson we invited this awesome member Pedro with us and (attempted) to teach Delfino that Jehova is Jesus Christ. The lesson actually went super well, but unfortunately in the end Delfino just couldn’t accept what the scriptures were teaching. But we are going to keep working a lot with him and hopefully soon he’ll have a change of heart.
*Artemio’s Baptism* The other exciting event that happened this week was Artemio, this guy I was teaching over 5 months ago in Salina Cruz, finally got baptized! When I was there with him he was so close to getting baptized, but certain things prevented him from doing so. But now, he finally has been able to take the step and make wonderful convanents with Heavenly Father.
The cool part about the baptism is that I got to see the entire service. It was Friday night and we were on a district activity in another ward out visiting less active members. We had just started when one of the Asistants in the mission sent me a Zook link. I connected, and got to watch the entire thing, and even have the opportunity to talk to Artemio to congratulate him too. It was a very special time and I am grateful that I was able to see the end of his journey.
