Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope you’ve been well, and the week has gone good for you guys. This week here down on the beaches of Zicatela, we have had quite the time with mission work and finally getting to know the area.
*Zicatela* After two(ish) weeks, I think I’ve finally got the area down and understand it all now. We worked a lot in a part called Lazaro Cardenas, where a lot of information points existed from past missionaries. Unfortunately, we weren’t very successful with it all because the points were super poorly marked, with information like “Lady wearing tanktop and kid holding bucket”, or “Bill, bring a bible”. In short, missionaries that were here about 2 years ago really didn’t do a great job putting information on the map, and we are not going to try to find people using that method.
The heat down here is also almost unbearable, from about 2:00-6:00 we are just out there dying with the heat and sun. It isn’t that fun but I guess that’s the mission experience haha. But it sure does wear on you. Even though we really didn’t find a lot people this week, we felt utterly exhausted at the end of every day because of working and being outside.
*Exchanges in Rio Grande* This week I also had the cool chance to go to the furthest away area in the mission, Rio Grande. It is about an hour away from us in this town a little bit more inland. I went there with Elder Fernandez and we had a great time together. We spent the whole day pretty much in the same little area, with a few good lessons and contacts. The next day we had a surprise change to out zone conference over zoom, so we had to stay in Rio Grande and watch the conference on our phone. The conference was good, it was kind of a bummer that it was over zoom again. Hopefully next transfer it will be in person.
