Hey everyone! How are you all doing?! I hope this week went well for you guys, because it was kind of a roller coaster for us. Here we go!
Meetings On Tuesday there was a huge meeting for all the trainers and trainees (me), so we went to a church in the city and had some awesome lessons from the APs and Presidente Martinez. But the best part was seeing all the guys I flew to Mexico with. Since many are in the coast (about 8 hours away), I pretty much never see them. So let’s say it was quite a party hearing about their experiences and time in the mision thus far. Wednesday we had a standards training over zoom and it was alright, just another meeting to tak about our appearance and what is and what isn’t allowed. Kinda neat, but nothing special.
The Work This week went by kinda slow after the meetings because our days were entirely spent in the church, contacting and teaching over the phone. However, we did happen to set 3 baptism dates, which is super awesome. These people are still very new the gospel though, so please pray for Gabriel, Martin, and Luis to continue to have their prayers answered about the Gospel. Apart from them, there are others that are very close to setting a baptismal date, they just need a few things to go right before it can happen.
The Members This week we had a little misunderstanding with some of the members over picking up the food they make and balancing our schedule out. However, after a wonderful first ward counsel, we worked things out to be a lot more consistent and better for everyone. I hope it will improve our work in ways we have never thought of. But a part of this initiative to help the members more (and have them help us too), we made chocolate truffles for all the ward leaders and families who have been helping us out. It was pretty fun but kind of a late night we stayed up making them, haha.
Spiritual Thought One thing we teach a lot is prayer, how to pray and how Heavenly Father responds to our prayers. We teach this using Galatians 5:22-23 which says, “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” I hope everyone has felt one of these at some time in their life and if not, take the advice of Ammon, “Can ye tell?” Look for blessings and signs of the Spirit in your life, and it will bring you more joy and faith than you can imagine, I promise. Heavenly Father wants to talk to you and these are some of the ways he does it.
