Mission Week 19

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well! This week has been a huge change in the mission but a really good one as well. I don’t have much more to say in the introduction, so on to the rest!
Transfers Last Wednesday, transfers happened. Because Elder Sifuentes was leaving, he packed all of his stuff up and we headed to the offices early Wednesday morning. It was a bit of a sad day because Sifuentes and I had become pretty tight over the past 3 months, but the change was bound to come some time. We arrived pretty late at the offices so things moved pretty fast and I was in a taxi with my new companion before I knew what happened. My new companion is Elder Licona and he is super awesome! He’s got about 16 months in the mission and is the new district leader. He is from Mexico City and knows quite a bit of English, so it has been a great week so far. And he knows a lot about Gospel, so I can learn a ton from him too.
Weather The rainy season recently ended in Oaxaca and now it is actually getting colder. It will never be cold enough for snow, but blankets are for sure necessary at night. And there is a lot more wind! Which makes riding bikes a lot harder sometimes, haha.
The Work With transfers, I thought the work would take a hard stop for a few days, but it actually transitioned pretty smoothly. Maybe because I was still in Valle de Etla, or maybe because Elder Licona adapted at the speed of light, or just that the Lord has a plan for this area. But the work is continuing forward and I believe that having a different voice to talk to some of our investigators is a really good thing. The way Elder Licona does things is different than my other companion, but it might just be what this area needs to progress further. However, this also requires riding bikes wayyyy more than before so my body is sure getting a workout!
