Hey everyone! What’s up? How’s it going? I hope everyone is doing great and had a wonderful experience with General Conference this weekend! This week for me was super nice and a busy time after transfers, but here I am now, with another p-day!
Salina Cruz On Tuesday, I got transferred to my next area (one in which I’ll be staying a while), “Linda Vista Salina Cruz 1”. It is incredible! Salina Cruz is a city about an hour west of my old area in Juchitán. And wow, it is beautiful (see photos below). This zone really feels a lot like the capital city of Oaxaca with all the busses and taxis and generally busy life of it all. However the one key difference is that we are super close to the ocean, so the humidity is crazy strong and the heat really hits hard. But it is tolerable after coming from Juchitán.
Companions My new companion is Elder Carbajal! He is another American that is from Texas and we actually arrived in Oaxaca together! So it has been a blast having him as a companion in this new area. On top of that, the ward that we are in (Linda Vista Salina Cruz) is split into two areas, meaning there are 4 elders in the ward. And the other two are Elders Prado and Sifuentes (my trainer). We eat lunch with them at the members’ houses every day, so there is an great bond between the 4 of us and the members.
Zone Conference This week we also had a super quick put together zone Conference that was great. It happened in the afternoon/evening, which was a bit strange, but a nice change. After some super great trainings by the STLs, ZLs, APs, and President of the Mission, we had a fun dinner of Domino’s Pizza. It was simple, but a fun zone conference like always.
General Conference I hope you all were able to tune into General Conference this week, because it was super great. Elder Carbajal and I were fortunately able to see it in English along with the two American zone leaders, Elders Anderson and Youngstrom. The messages were super inspiring and I personally heard a great deal about Missionary Work as well as pressing forward, like in the talk by President Nelson about spiritual momentum. Hopefully you all got answeres to your questions and were uplifted by the words spoken!
