Mission Week 60: On to #4!

Hey everyone! Hope you’re well and still getting through this pretty hot summer alright. Us down here in Oaxaca (especially on the coast) are down here sweating bad but living the dream. I did get a slight cold this week so that was pretty miserable to deal with but I’m over it now and ready to hit this next transfer strong!
*Another transfer in Linda Vista* We didn’t get the transfer call over the weekend meaning that I’ll be here for 4 transfers (6 months) and that Elder Cauble and I will be together for a third transfer too. I am actually super excited because I absolutely love the city Salina Cruz and to be able to be spending another transfer here in the Linda Vista Ward is a huge blessing. Our district didn’t have any drastic changes but I might be spending the next transfer in a different assignment, to say the least (spoilers haha).
This last week we spent a lot of time with the members because we thought I’d be leaving, but now I just get to keep doing it. We had tlayudas, seafood, tacos, and much more. I was trying to get one last taste of Salina Cruz before possibly getting sent back to the city. But now that I know I’ll be here for six more weeks just means I’ll have more time to spend with them and try even more.
*Ward Mission Activity “Todos Juntos”* This week it was our ward’s turn to have the mission activity Todos Juntos and it went super well. We got a lot of the ward together and went visiting less-active members. And the cool thing is that a lot of them even came to church on Sunday, which is super cool! One case in particular was with this one member, Hermano Botello. We have tried to visit him a lot before but never have been able to because of him and his family being sick or not home. However, this time was so different because he was home and let us in and we had a great discussion on the patio. And apparently something that one of the members visiting with us said was so impactful, it was what got Hermano Botello to church. Miracles do exist, and they exist when we need them most.
*The Rest of the Work* We worked a lot this week with some of the friends we have in teaching, such as Artemio and Omar. Artemio couldn’t come to church last week because of work but felt really bad about it and now is even more ready to obey the word of God, and our lessons with him have been super awesome and spiritual. With Omar, we could get him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he came to church again this week! We are really excited to see how he progresses and plan on setting a baptismal date in the near future.
Pictures! Some good ones this week, haha -Us eating tlayudas with this awesome member family -Ward missionary activity -Elder Cauble and I at this restaurant “Mango Ice”, felt like it could’ve been a restaurant perfect for Bear Lake -Some great pictures of the view!
Take care everyone, have a great week! -Elder Ord
