Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing fantastic. This week here in Oaxaca was one very special and full of surprises. There were tons of miracles that happened and a fair bit of difficulties too, but in all, it went super well with a lot of work done!
Miracle #1 The first great thing that happened this week is that we had another appointment with a less-active member Sandra along with her 10-year-old son Marcel. Marcel has not been baptized and in this appointment, he expressed a desire to get baptized! This was incredible because we have spent months trying to have at the very least an appointment with them, and now it seems like Sandra is coming back to activity and her son getting baptized!
Miracle #2 Over the past few weeks, we have been in off-and-on contact with this person named Lily. A few weeks ago we had a really good lesson with her and she was reading the Book of Mormon every morning with a member friend who lives in the United States. We lost contact from then, but last week, Lily happened to come to a Ward Family Home Evening activity ALONE!! We figured out that another member friend in the ward invited her, but it was still a miracle. Now, this week she came to another Ward Family Home Evening and we had a lesson the day after as well. She has almost finished the Book of Mormon and has a strong desire to learn more. The lesson went incredible and hopefully we see some great progress with her in the future!
Miracle #3 This week we finally had the zone activity “Todos Juntos” after rescheduling it five times. And even though only one other companionship of missionaries came and not too many members either, the Lord took what we put in and blessed it immensely! Here is the real list of miracles: 1) We visited 7 less-active families in about an hour and a half 2) All of them were home 3) All of them were willing to talk and hear a short message When the activity concluded, I really could not believe how incredible it was, and how huge of a blessing it will be for the Santo Domingo Ward.
Transfers Unfortunately, I personally won’t get to see too many of the results of these miracles because tomorrow I get transferred. It was a pretty unfortunate phone call to receive from the APs, but I still know that the Lord will care for Santo Domingo and the people therein. As for me, we’ll just have to see where it all leads next week and where I end up!
